Running Shoes Technology

Recent developments in science and design mean that many running shoes are more technical than ever. With advanced computer modeling software, creators can now develop shoes that work exactly in line with how humans run.

UK-based company, Reebok are credited with one of the first purpose-built sports shoes when, in the late 1800’s they released a pair of shoes designed for running that featured spikes. Something that had never been done before, the inventor, a keen runner himself, found that the spikes provided more grip on softer surfaces and helped him to run more fast than previously.

Two of the biggest companies in the sporting footwear market were actually founded by brothers. Adi Dassler created Adidas, while his brother Rudolph formed Puma. Established in 1925, Adidas also featured spiked footwear to help runners, this time offering a selection of varying styles for runners of varying distance.

Extensive research was performed in the early 1970’s to see exactly how humans run. Research that in modern time, with the benefit of computer software, is much simpler than it was then.

The research concentrated on the damage caused to the human body, especially the knee and thigh joints as a result of prolonged running on different surfaces.

The results of the study revealed three main methods of running; Neutral, Supenation and Pronation.

The Natural running style is where the runners foot lands flat on the ground and rolls neither inwards or outwards, but the foot travels directly in a straight line. This style of running is often the best for endurance running.

Pronation – This is where the foot rolls inwards as it hits the ground, and moves to the side as it travels forwards. Common injuries caused by this type of running are Tarsel tunnel syndrome, shin splints and bunyons.

Supenation – The opposite of Pronation – In this case, the foot rolls outwards. Excessive supenation can cause shin splints and ankle sprains.

There are now different versions of running footwear developed to cope with whatever style of running you have. Many shoes use different density of foam in parts of the sole to offer extra and firmer cushioning where needed to help minimise damage to your body with excessive running.

Other developments in running shoes include the Air Sole from Nike which was created in 1972. The inventor put rubber into his waffle machine at homeand stuck the resulting ‘waffle sole’ onto a standard pair of running shoes. The runners who tested the new invention remarked on how good they found it, and the lightweight sole revolutionised the running shoe market.

In more recent times, brands such as Skechers have entered the running footwear arena.

How To Improve Your Environment Through Recycling

As the technology is advancing day-by-day, people tend to live a happier and easy life. But these luxuries will never be forever, these are for the time being. Due to the ill-effects associated with developing technology, people cant live a peaceful life forever. There is a visible increase in environmental pollution levels in last two decades. The greatest health hazards are mainly caused due to air and water pollution. Air pollution is due to the emission of injurious and deadly smokes in the atmosphere from increasing number of vehicles and industries, whereas, water pollution is due to huge amount of industrial wastes being let in the sea water. As a result of which not only the human life is seriously affected, but also the plant and animal life is completely disturbed. Also, the severe climatic conditions are due to global warming which is caused because of rising levels of atmospheric pollution. All these factors will turn our green earth to ashes. Its time to think sincerely about its serious affects in future and save our ‘Planet’.

You might have often heard about ‘Recycling’ and might have wondered what it is exactly. Recycling is a method to control ecological pollution and make earth a greener planet. Recycling is to reprocess the old and used materials into fresh and useful products and this actually helps to improve our environment to a great level. Here are some advantages of recycling which in turn has a huge impact on nature.
-Preserves the limited natural resources on the earth: Recycling aids in processing old and unused things, thus saves essential raw materials that can be used afterwards in future.
-Helps to save energy: When raw materials are processed to essentialproducts, a lot of energy is needed for its processing. But recycling helps to save energy as the old products are just reprocessed to newer ones, thereby consuming lesser energy .
-Reduces pollution levels in atmosphere: Recycling aids in lowering of waste products by using effectual methods to organize waste products. This shows that the conventional methods of disposing wastes considerably reduce environmental pollution.
-Recycling even helps to control green house gas emissions. Thus, the harmful and toxic gases are reduced considerably which helps to keep the atmosphere clean.
-Helps to save space: The space used for waste disposal landfill sites are dumped with waste products and these get filled up immediately. Recycling helps to save huge space which can be utilized for other meaningful pruposes.
-Helps to control global warming: As we are aware about the fact that huge areas of land is been cleared for industries and housing. Thus, this depletes the oxygen level and increases global warming. But recycling has helped to save the ecology and control global warming to a huge extent.

All these factors show that we must encourage the process of recycling which will surely save our planet and make earth a better place to live in. If everybody uses effective techniques to recycle waste it will certainly help to improve our atmosphere. Live healthier and happier in greener earth by recycling .

Is Technology Making Social Anxiety Worse

I love video games, I love my computer, and I love my flat screen, but I find myself wondering sometimes if technology is making social anxiety worse. Has the convenience that technology has given to us also hindered us from overcoming social anxiety as a whole? Has technology made overcoming social anxiety even more difficult by placing a virtual barrier between human interaction and physical contact?

We can research and make friends with people online, but there is a lack of human interaction. The advantage of being online is that you can find a community to help you with whatever problem you have, but the disadvantage is the lack of action. We start using the internet as our outlet to being social.
There is a huge lack of “real” interaction. We can sit at home and keep ourselves entertained with the hundreds of channels we have. We can live our vicariously through the character we play on video games, hell we can even pay our bills online so we don’t have to interact with another human being.

I love the benefits that are given to us because of technology, don’t get me wrong. I think it’s great that I can do everything I listed above. I love the fact that I can save time and money by sitting at home. I think technology can help and hurt you at the same time.

The way that I figure it, technology is like a fine wine. Doctors say, for the time being anyway, that a glass of wine a day is good for you. On the other hand, If you drink too much, it can kill brain cells and also can cause liver problems. Technology, like wine, can affect your relationships if you take in too much of it and let it control your life.

I think it’s outstanding that I have friends from all over the world that I’ve never met and probably never will, but I think it can also stunt your growth when it comes to getting past the reality of shyness and social anxiety. I realize that technology is a tool we can use to reach out to others but we need to use it wisely and apply what we learn with it, to the outside world. We have to make sure we don’t use technology as a crutch to avoid physical social interaction.

Commercial Induction Cooktop Technology

Commercial induction cooking is rising in popularity, as foodservice professionals discover the benefits of induction cooktop ranges. Busy commercial kitchens in the back of crowded restaurants can get messy and chaotic, with several chefs cooking various different dishes as orders are placed, stoves continually heating up the cooking space, and servers waiting to bring fresh, hot food from the kitchen to the front of house. The efficiency and precision provided by induction cooktop technology can greatly improve the foodservice industry, changing the way chefs and waitstaff cook and serve food. Read on to learn how.

Improved Food:
Induction cooking ranges use electromagnetic current to heat the pan directly, rather than indirectly heating the cooktop’s surface or the air around the pan. With direct heat to the pan, professional chefs can cook food faster than with traditional gas and electric stoves. Induction technology heats food evenly and consistently, eliminating the need to adapt to a range’s “hot spots” and “cold spots,” and resulting in food that is cooked perfectly throughout. Many complex foods, such as sauces or risotto, require consistent, precise, low heat that is constantly delivered through commercial induction cooktop technology.

Improved Service:
At the front of the house, diners enjoying an evening out expect food served to their table quickly and piping hot. As orders pile up in the kitchen, induction cooking technology can speed up the cooking process, so that chefs can cook food faster and keep patrons satisfied. The high, efficient heat of induction cooktop ranges can boil or blacken food in an instant, while precise consistency and accurate controls keep delicate foods from burning or boiling over. With a kitchen that operates faster and more smoothly, diners can enjoy improved service and high-quality meals that keep them coming back for more.

Improved Kitchen:
Commercial induction cooktops are cleaner, safer and more energy-efficient than traditional gas and electric stoves. Because induction cooking technology heats the pan, not the cooktop, the surface remains cool to the touch. This reduces the risk of injury caused by burns, and eliminates the mess caused by foods spilling over and burning on the surface. Induction cooking is also a more energy-efficient method of cooking. More advanced induction cooktops deliver 90 to 95 percent of the heat they generate, in contrast to the 30 to 50 percent delivered by most gas and electric stovetops. By saving so much energy, the kitchen becomes a cooler space with lower utility bills and greener cooking methods.

Improving food, service and kitchen operations makes induction cooking technology ideal for busy commercial kitchens.
